Case-could be better, but has a window to see inside and much room to add expansions and other drives. If you have a better budget, you can go ahead and get yourself the Phantom NZXT case-my personal favorite .

All of these computers are in the highest percentile of excellence and will run Guild Wars 2 at outrageous speeds, but as I stated before the more money you spend on quality parts and rigs the more enjoyable your gaming experience will be. All parts except for motherboards and cases can be found at newegg.com. Have fun and keep on gaming!

The guardian is the best defensive/support profession, although the guardian is more than capable of lending offensive support. In relation to the Guardians counter-part, the warrior, the Guardian, while having less HP and doing less damage, is better at avoiding, blocking, or outright avoid taking damage to begin with, as well as reducing the amount of damage those less frequent blows inflict, and has the courtesy of buffs (called virtues in GW2), which also benefit the Guardians allies. The Guardian is a party leader; one of the best professions for defense and buffing and probably the most party-friendly profession in GW2 It can help protect siege weapons, defend control points, and block movement through choke points.

Before getting into this Guardian Guide, I would like to mention that if you were looking for a really comprehensive Guild Wars 2 Guide to help you with PvP, PvE, Levelling, and advancing in the game like YOU see fit, then you can check out this guide Here. It is the best GW2 guide out right now, enjoy!

Now, back to the Guardian Guide;…

Unlike preceding MMO’s, no profession, even the Guardian is able to withstand significant amounts of damage. Tanking in GW2 refers to a players ability to control the enemy by crippling him, using wards which are exlusive to the guardian profession to negate offensive attacks and prevent enemy advancement. There’s no direct heals in GW2 which don’t have long cooldowns that effect the entire party, but the Guardian is capable of providing HP regeneration, as well as shielding his party, which does help.

The Guardian can have three free signets (virtues), each of which provide a passive buff, or can be activated for more potent effects.

1) **Virtue of Justice: Burn foes with every fifth attack. Activation (30 second cooldown):**

- Grants burning on the next attack for the guardian and its allies.

2) Virtue of Resolve: Grants Aegis (blocks next attack) every 40 seconds. Activation (90 second cooldown): Grants Aegis to the guardian and its allies.

3) Virtue of Courage: Regenerates health. Activation (60 second cooldown) heals the guardian and its allies.

Guardian Trait Lines

The trait lines for the guardian are listed below, along with their associated attributes and weapon or utility skill type associations.

Zeal

+10 Power per point

+1 Expertise per point

Improves symbols, spirit weapons, and conditions.

Radiance

+10 Percision per point

+10 Malice per point

Improves signets, blind, and various conditions.

Valor

+10 Toughness per point

+1 Prowess per point

Improves blocking and meditations.

Honor

+10 Vitality per point

+10 Compassion per point

Improves symbols, support, shouts, and dodges.

Virtues

+1 Concentration per point

+1 Willpower per point

Improves virtues, elite skills, and consecrations.

Virtues

Virtues are a passive mechanic unique to Guardians which provide an irreplacable benefit to not just the Guardian but the rest of his party. The three virtues are essentially three signets. It’s basically like having three additional skill slots which you are unable to switch the skills out of, yet they have the added bonus of being available all the time. The passive benefits are far greater than the manual activation of one of the virtues. Passive regeneration for example will heal more HP than merely activating it, but if you need heal immediately, the slow regen won’t help that much.

**Virtue of Courage**

This skill provides passive healing. In PvE, there is no need to activate the virtue as the threat won’t be significant enough to warrant a need for it. In PvP, passive regeneration will do little to prevent you from being killed, given the the large amount of damage other well-geared players tend to inflict. You’ll want to use this more as a temporary heal.

**Virtue of Justice**

Virtue of Justice works well in combiantion with Burning. Burning is a condition that adds extra DPS to the guardians attacks. Burning is affected by additional damage, which can be increased using Radiance. With this virtue you’ll gain one second of burning on every fifth attack, which can be significant. Knowing when to activate this virtue is difficult. In PvP a second of burning is defintately going to have an impact on your effectiveness. It’s enough to give you a boost in damage, but not enough for a caster to negate the effects of it. In PvE, it’s a glorious DPS boost. It can be a little confusing, but to put it as simply as possible: by not activating (leaving it as a passive buff), you’ll do more damage, except for when you are close to allies; or if you require a rapid boost in damage and you’re soloing one fairly buff enemy.

**Virtue of Resolve**

Every 40 seconds, virtue of resolve provides Aegis. Aegis blocks follow-up attacks, so this will provide added survivability. If you apprehend a critical attack for instance, you can activate virtue of resolve and negate its effects. When you`re in a party, the activation of this skill can turn the tide of battle in your favor, as it can save you and your allies a ton of HP. When left passive, it reduces the amount of damage of all attacks, though not as significantly.

General Tips

- Guardians are probably the best choke defenders in GW2. Their greatest use is their skills like Ring of Warding and Line of warding which can literally block off choke-points preventing enemies from reaching you and your allies. Shield of Absorption can force your assailants backwards and deflect oncoming attacks

- Hallowed Ground imparts stability and is critical to include if you intend to play PvP at all. Stability prevents knockdowns and negates a plethora of buffs.

- iterventions are superb because they allow you to quickly move in and out of battle. If your Hp`s running low, this can be a lifesaver.

- Guardians can be built to be very strong healers, although in GW2 there really is no disignated healer/support, the Guardian is the best for acting as a healing and support character.

- When knocked down use Wave of lightning to force back enemies. Great in PVP because it disrupts final blows.

________________________________________________

Suggestions for future guides are ALWAYS welcome!

This is a basic introductory guide to the Necromancer. The Necromancer is pretty much defined and distinguished if not by his dark and introspective nature, by the fact that he summons the dead to do his bidding. You know, just a small minor quirk. He is a quaint character for many MMO players, and has been in a number of MMO’s throughout the last decade. If You’ve ever played the game Overlord, you’ve already got a glimpse of what it’s like to be a Necromancer. The Necromancer oversees and controls an army of undead minions, and then he summons them to do whatever he pleases, in this case, kill other Guild Wars 2 players. Aside from summoning your fallen minions to ensure that your armies stay at full-strength and ensuring the appropriate buffs are cast, in order to be effective with the Necromancer in GW2, you’ll need to master the Necromancer’s unique character skill; death shroud.

The Death Shroud is a state that the Necromancer is able to enter after accumulating life-force, measured by a bar located above your hotkeys. Once this bar is full, you can activate the class defining Death-shroud ability. The Death Shroud buffs up your Necromancer significantly, providing a secondary set of hit-points. The death shroud literally doubles the Necromancers HP and also temporarily grants the Necromancer more powerful abilities. Most of your equipment choices should be focused on buffing your Necromancers death shroud ability. Here’s the basic layout of where the DeathShroud Ability Is:

Before i get into this guide, i want to point out that it will pay off to get a guide such as the Guild Wars 2 Domination Guide (Check it out Here). It will give you a VERY comprehensive and great guide to all the GW2 Classes, as well as the best builds and strategies to PvE, PvP, and Gameplay (Including Everything else in-between)

Back to this guide;

The Necromancer makes heavy use of DOT to weaken and slow their foes over time, rather than focusing on direct damage attacks. These DOT attacks weaken the Necromancers opponents giving his minions, which are already difficult to contend with, a far easier time.

Necromancer Trait Lines

At level 11, you will begin earning Trait Points (1 per level for a total of 70 at level 80). These are basically skill-points that can alloted according to your will in any of the five trait lines available. Each point spent will increase 2 primary or secondary attributes. Every five levels or points you’ll unlock either a minor or major traint

The trait lines for the necromancer are listed below, along with their associated attributes and weapon or utility skill type associations.

Spite

+10 Power per point spent

+1% Condition Duration per point spent

Improves – Signets, Death Shroud (minor), General Damage

Curses

+10 Precision per point spent

+10 Condition Damage per point spent

Improves – Warhorn skills and the Wells, Corruptions, and Spectral utility skill lines

Death Magic

+10 Toughness per point spent

+1% Boon Duration per point spent

Improves – Staff skills, Survivability, Minions and Wells

Blood Magic

+10 Vitality per point spent

+10 Healing Power per point spent

Improves – Dagger skills, Marks (staff skills), Wells, and Minions.

Soul Reaping

+1% Critical Damage per point spent

+1% Life Force Pool per point spent

Improves – Death Shroud (major enhancement), Spectral skills

Aside from the Necromancers minions which can do substantials damange, the Necromancer deals AOE (Area of effect) and DOT damage (Damage over time), which insidiously wears down opponents. Because of this, you’ll want to make sure that your Necromancer has good speed and mobility so that you can survive long enough to watch your opponent fall to the ground. Ensure you enter Death Shroud early in the battle as this doubles your hp, and can also boost the amount of damange you do In order to gain swiftness, some options are the Warhorn kill Locus Swarm or the Focus skill Reaper’s Touch during combat. The Spectral and Minion skill lines also offer some interesting mobility options worth considering. The spectral skill Spectral Walk can be used as an escape mechanism, while the active skill gained from summoning a Flesh Wurm, Necrotic Traversal, can provide you with a short range teleport.

Necromancer Abilities

Life Force Gain / Recharge

Blood is Power

Utility:

Life Transfer:Death Shroud

- +5% life force (channeled)

- 40 second recharge

Necrotic Bite: Dagger (main hand)

- +5% life force

- No recharge, chain skill

Necrotic Grasp: Staff

- +3% life force

- No recharge

Reaper’s Scythe: Spear (aquatic)

- +3% life force

- No recharge

Signet of Undeat:Utility

- +1% life force every 3 seconds

- Passive signet state, 180 second recharge

Spectral Armor:Utility

- +3% life force on damage for 6 seconds

- 90 second recharge

Necromancer Weapons

Once you reach level 7, your Necromancer will be able to equip two sets of weapons which can be actively swapped out of combat. The Necromancer can equip quite a long list of weapons, but you’ll generally want to focus on obtainined gear that will increase the Necromancers life-force and thus increase the potency of his invaluable life-force ability. Secondary attributes to look out for are skill boosts and hp boosts, which are really all the Necromancer requires. The necromancer is a character class that does not rely heavily on gear as the Necromancers do his battles for him by proxy. Skill boosts will make them stronger and more effective, but you’ll find the Necromancer does quite fine even without skill boosts. The Necromancer will have enough mana just from that which he gains per level. As in every MMO I can think of, you can never have too many hit-points. They are the difference between life and death. Although it may seem counter-intuitive, even with casters you want to focus on increasing their survivability through life increasing gear.

As with any MMO, first start-up is both an exciting and overwhelming experience, so much so that players often prefer to just jump into it picking up the game as they go along. Typically, in the MMO/RPG world, this can leave players having regrets later on. You generally only become aware that your character is underpowered or simply a bore to play in the late game after you’ve done the legwork and spent arduous hours grinding to try to strengthen your character enough to the point where its final playing mechanics become available. GW2 thankfully eschews the formula that players anticipate from MMO’s. In GW2, you have less to lose by just picking whichever character is appealing and rolling with it, as you can find out rather early on in your playing experience whether or not that profession’s playing style is intriguing and fun to play; within the first 3 hours of playing. This is because, unique to GW2, once you get your first abilities, your characters playing style does not change much. Your character merely perfects the playing style it begins with, so you don’t need to fret to much.

Also, unprecedentedly in MMO’s, you can actually thoroughly test a given build at level 80 by entering the mists, following a brief tutorial. You can join a populated PVP arena, or try the characters abilities in the lobby. You get all the professions skill and abilities, and access to all the gear the game has to offer. So feel free to test out all the professions if you wish before settling on one. Even if you skip the mists, at level 11 you’ll unlock everything you need to know that characters playing style. So if you don’t like your selected character by level 11, you’re not going to like it at level 80 in GW2, and you should select a different character. In any case, having an understanding of each of the character classes and professions can save you a few hours.

An introduction to the professions

Picking the right profession will take place in two separate parts. There are 3 general playing styles; Soldier, Adventurer and scholar, and two more meticulously defined sub-professions within these main professions. So, let’s have a look.

In addition, one might consider a gaming guide such as the GW2Domination guide after choosing a profession; The GW2Domination guide is a very comprehensive GW2 Guide, with LOTS of great info, check it out here: GuildWars2Domination

Soldier

Playing Style: Melee

Sub-professions: Warrior or Guardian

Armor: heavy

This is your typical melee character. Often the character best suited to beginners, typically point and click characters. The character is the tank character; it’s well-suited to taking a ton of damage, as well as dishing it out with melee weapons which it is best suited towards. As is typicaly with MMO’s, this type of character is ideal for beginners who often don’t have the micro skills required to optimally play the more intricate character classes, such as casters, called “scholars” in GW2. If you’re someone who wants to have a fairly robust playing experience, and doesn’t want to get into too many technicalities, the soldier proffession is likely ideal for you. GW2 however has broken down a lot of the traditional mmo barriers, so even the Soldier profession will require a certain degree of skill. Typically melee type characters, although have more HP than their allies, can just sit their and take a being. This isn’t exactly the case in GW2, the profession focuses on block damage and controlling enemies, which you’ll have to learn. Also, neither profession is exclusively melee anymore either. The soldier class can also used ranged weapons such as rifles and bows if you are a warrior, and if you’re a guardian, cepters and staves.

Adventurer

Playing Style: Artillary; proficiency with bows and rifles

Sub-Professions: Ranger, Engineer, and Thief

Armor: Medium

Adventurers can be best described as a middle-ground between the proverbial caster and melee character. The adventurer professions specialize in the use of ranged weapons. Thes are unique professions that would more appeal to the innovative MMO player, who likes elements of strategy. Adventurers are similar to what are rogues, Assassins or hunters in other MMO’s. Their main weaponry focus is long ranged weapons, bows or firearms. Although like the melee character class, in GW2, adventurers aren’t resigned to using just their preferential weapons; they can weild both melee weapons and long-ranged weapons, but are most effective and geared towards long-ranged weapons.

Scholar Class

Professions: Elementalist, Mesmer, and Necromancer

Armor: Light

Playing style: You’re proverbial Spell-caster

This is your renowned caster class; Wizard, Mage, Sorceress, who like the adventurer focuses almost exclusively on long-ranged magical attacks. The only salient difference in their playing styles is that casters use magic to attack and adventurers use artillery. Scholars you’ll find are much more flexible in GW2; they can assume a support, control role, or tank roll, contrary to the trope that is commonly associated with them. If you want to primarily be a spell caster, regardless of whether or not you want to be on the front-lines or cast from a distance, then you’ll want to pick a profession within the Scholar class.

Picking a Sub-profession

After you’ve selected a general profession, more accurately described as a general style of play, you’ll need to more meticulously select a sub profession. Granted, most professions within the main preferential professions will be suited to your style of play. Sub-profession define that style of play in more detail.

Soldier Sub-professions:

Warrior or Guardian

The warrior can be best described as your default/beginner profession. This is your typical cliché main character that’s been the focal point of every RPG since the early 90′s. The warrior is the simple guy with the sword, armor, and shield; nothing fancy. The warrior has more HP than its bi-product; the Guardian, and definitely has the most base HP in the game. The warrior deals infrequent and less reliable blows to his enemies, but they do more damaged than the Guardians more frequent and more accurate hits. If you want to deal a ton of damage, and like to feel brutish when others might be sluggish, you may prefer the warrior to the guardian.

Guardians are more about controlling the battle. They have a lot of HP as well, but not as much as the Warrior. They make up for it by being harder to hit, and generally better at avoiding taking any damage at all. Although they don’t do an enormous amount of damage like the warrior, they land more frequent and more reliable hits, while being more effective at protecting themselves and their allies. The Guardian is also your typical support/buffing character and tend to be party leaders. If you’ve ever played D2, the guardian would be most similar to the Paladin.

Adventurer sub-professions: Engineers, rangers and thief’s

The adventure class is a lot more diverse than the soldier class. Engineers are an interesting class and can potentially be a lot of fun. They make use of turrets, grenades, med kits and a number of other technology based utilities. They are mostly a support character, almost like a medic type of character. Despite this, they can do some heavy damaged with explosives.

The ranger on the other hand is your typical Bow and Arrow, cloak and dagger type character; basically your Rogue in WOW. These are your masters of ranged combat; their preferred weapons are either Bow or Rifles. Rangers also get a pet, which is unique to this class. The pet obviously tanks in the front, while the Ranger fires arrows or rifle shots from a safe distance. The ranger can be built melee, but starting out it is best to play to your professions strengths, and arguably always so. If you want to be a master marksman and have a cool pet as support, Ranger is you character.

Last but not least for the adventurer class… the thief. The thief makes use of stealth and traps, which are the thief’s primary abilities. The thief is very similar to Assassins from Diablo 2. The thief is all about mobility, stealth, and traps.

Scholar Sub-Professions:

Elementalist, Mesmer & Necromancer

The elementalist is your cliché caster character that everyone who’s ever played any MMO is well acquainted with. The elementalist was there from the start, way back when the inspiration for D&D (and every RPG/MMO game after) – Lord of the Rings, featured a little known character called Gandalf the Grey. Casters are typically support characters that dish out elemental damage from the flank. Often if they’re powerful enough or well-equipped enough they can assume any roll. Their special mechanics are what are known as attunements. Casters can heal allies, use buffs, conditions, and deal perhaps the most damage out of any character class. If you want to play the typical elemental caster, the elemenatlist is the profession for you. Be warned though, Elementalists have the lowest HP in GW2, and my feel a bit vulnerable when out in the open.

Mesmers are somewhat unique to GW2. It’s difficult to think of a suitable MMO analogy for them. Mesmors have mastered the art of illusion. The mesmer can make clone himself which confuses the enemy and causes them to attack the wrong character. The Mesmer is something different that’s capable of assuming a ranged or melee role. If you’re feeling adventurous try the Mesmer.

Last, but certainly not least is the Necromancer. The Necromancer is a dark, esoteric type of character who’s a master of summoning the undead to do his bidding. In GW2, Necromancers have high survivability due to their unique skill death shroud, which grants not only a secondary health bar, but more powerful skills. Necromancers are a more sturdy caster than the elementalist and the Mesmer. For those who love darker esoteric type characters, they may find they have an unusual attraction to the Necromancer. (This is my favorite character class )

So there’s your professions. This should be enough for you to at least get a general idea of where to start.

In order to be a great PC gamer in the modern world, you need to be better than the competition. And let’s face it… the competition is stiff.

There are a ton of gamers out there who are incredibly skilled.

So, if you want to beat the best and become an elite gamer, then you need to get to work. You have a long way to the top… but if you want it bad enough, you can get there.

Here are the three things you will need in order to become an awesome PC gamer…

1. Dedication

Just like with anything else in life, you will need to be dedicated to becoming the best PC gamer you are capable of becoming. You have to sit down and make the commitment. You have to already know that you are the best. And, you have to reaffirm that commitment every single day.

In other words, you need to practice because practice really does make perfect. I guarantee you that the best PC gamers out there are also the PC gamers that have spent the most time playing.

Now I’m not recommending you go on some crazy 48-hour gaming marathon at the risk of your own life. In fact, that would probably do more harm than good…
What I’m suggesting is that you work at becoming better at your favorite game every single day. You do need to play a lot…

…but simply playing is not enough. You have to become a student of the game. You have to learn from the best. And, that’s where knowledge comes in…

2. Knowledge

Knowledge naturally attaches to dedication. The more dedicated to becoming the best at your favorite PC game you are, the more knowledgeable you will become.

The best way to acquire knowledge is to learn from the best.

Are there strategy guides written for your favorite game? Is there a popular blog dedicated to the game you play? Do some of the best at your game have their own YouTube channels?

These are great sources for gaining knowledge. However, just reading strategies guides or watching related videos on YouTube will not make you more knowledgeable.
Knowledge only truly comes when you have applied what you have learned. So, you need to implement what you have picked up from the guides you have read.

In fact, you can break down gaining knowledge into five easy steps (and you can do this for anything):

1 Take action

2 Learn from your successes and failures

3 Study, Study, Study

4 Apply what you have learned

5 Repeat

Taking action means playing your game. When you’re playing your game, you need to be aware of why you are succeeding and why you are failing. In 99% of the cases, you don’t win or lose because of luck. It’s because of strategy. So, you need to be honest with yourself when you lose a battle or fail while playing your game. Ask yourself why you got beat and try to honestly answer that question.

On the flip side, when you win, you need to figure out why you won. Was it a certain strategy you used? Were you quicker than the other player? What did you do to help you achieve victory?

The funny thing is that you learn more from losses than you do from victory. So you need to understand that failing isn’t a bad thing. It’s a part of the process.

Once you have determined why you have failed or succeeded, then you need to start studying the solutions. If you failed because you were too slow, maybe you can find information on how to be quicker. If you succeeded because you were faster than the other player, then you know that being fast is a huge advantage… and then you could look for ways to become even faster.

The point is you need to take what you have learned during the time you have played and you need to find out some solutions to your problems.

Then you need to apply those solutions in your game. The solutions might not work right away. Heck, they might not even work at all. But you need to apply what you have learned in order to become better. Then, you keep what works and you toss out what doesn’t work and you repeat the process.

If you do that long enough, you will soon find yourself as one of the best players in your gamer.

3. An Awesome Gaming Computer

Finally, the least important of the three things you need–but still incredibly important–is your computer. It doesn’t matter if you are the greatest gamer in the history of the world, if your computer is old and outdated and you are getting low frame rates, you will get beat by the worst player alive every time…

Go ahead and check out what the best players are using. I bet they aren’t playing on some 5 year-old computer that cost them a few hundred bucks. More than likely they’re playing on an awesome gaming computer.

We can talk about the effects that a good gaming computer can have on a gamer’s ability all day long, but in the end, playing your favorite PC game on a crappy computer is like taking a knife to a gunfight..

If you are using a old and outdated computer, you are lowering your chances of winning. And, depending on how bad your computer is, you could potentially be eliminating any chance you have of winning.

Fortunately, getting a solid gaming computer is not as expensive as you think. If you’re willing to build your own gaming computer, you can get an awesome machine at an affordable price.

And, building your own PC isn’t as hard as it sounds. There are many computer building guides out there that will help you through the process.

So, whatever you do, make sure you have a quality computer to play your games on. Otherwise all of the dedication and knowledge in the world won’t be able to help you on your journey to becoming the best.

Everyone who plays massively multiplayer online i.e.., MMO game, has a goal which is to reach the level cap. And it is common goal in Guild wars 2 also. Many players who play Guild Wars 2 love leveling. They try to increase their levels as fast as possible no matter what happens.

While many players who play Guild Wars 2 are slow in leveling up their account, they miss many other ways to level up their account naturally. Here I will explain some of the tips and tricks for leveling up your character to reach the level cap i.e.., Level to 80 in no time without spending too much time, it could save you many days or weeks ( I hope it helps this much at least!). As for people who don’t know how to level up their account easily, they will spend days and weeks in leveling up their account. Reaching the level, then, will be become more difficult for them. So here are some tips to level up your account.

To do the best at a game, it is generally recommended to get a leveling guide such as the GW2 Domination Guide which you can check out here: Guild Wars 2 Domination

First of all go with your personal story as it will bring you gold, great-looking amours and even bonus XP points for your character.

Once you created your character, you will get enough gold to purchase some tools from merchants. Purchasing tools like Mining packs, Logging Axes and harvesting sickles will be useful for you in this game. Once you bought these gathering tools, make them available with your character. Once these tools are ready with your character, collect raw materials as much as possible.

If you run around and explore the whole map, you will get extra EXP boosts for exploring the world.

Quests and dynamic events are some of the most important things to do in this game. Doing as many quests and dynamic events will bring you extra karma, gold coins and good amount of XP. But if you don’t know how to identify quests and dynamic events, then; Quests can be identified with unfilled golden hearts in the map and dynamic events can be identified with orange circles. Never leave quests and dynamic events as these help in power leveling your account.

If you ever visit a town, use some of your gold and karma to buy some more materials for crafting. And also gather some of the raw material in the town, which will help you later. Crafting will greatly help you to level up your account. You will get enough XP to level up to 10 levels when you max out one of the eight crafting disciplines. That means, if you max out all the 8 crafting disciplines, you will have enough XP to reach the level cap i.e.., Level 80 without even killing a single monster.

Many people get around slowly, because they run to and fro from different places and it takes time away from their leveling. By using the Asura Gate you can travel very fast to different places and this will saves you great time.

Before going for a mission, first check out your skills in the skills bar whether it is loaded with proper skills or not. Make sure you load your character with appropriate skills that will match your character. Do not load skills that are not apt for your character. If you have better skills that match your character, you can fight the battle easily and can earn more XP, which then means you can level up your character with XP.

In Guild Wars 2, when you are in a battle, go for killing your enemies at your same level. Do not kill your enemies less than your level. If you kill enemies equal to your level, you can earn more XP and which helps you kill greater enemies. It’s the circle of monster killing; get used to it.

Never leave a zone without completing it. Complete the zone first and then move to the next zone will help you level up faster. Always complete every zone before moving up to the next zone.

If you have enough gold with you, trade them for Gems in the trading post, as Gems will help you purchase extra XP points and XP points will help you level up your account.

For those who had played in Guild Wars, you know that elementalists are the benders of nature’s forces. They are the ones who melt away your health as they pound away at their foes with sheer power. By controlling the elements of fire, air, earth, water and arcane they work to control the fields of war. Of course they do not always have to be full out damage dealing monsters, elementalists can vary in combat style since each element is meant for different rolls.

Elementalists make up one of the three scholar professions in Guild wars 2. Being that they are very powerful, their defense consists of only light armor to keep them from being over powered. Of course just like mentioned above, they aren’t restricted to only one aspect of battle. They have an attunement system that allows them to access other elements to play other parts. Unlike other classes, elementalists are unable to switch weapon sets during battle to add diversity, so to make up for that they are capable of flipping between the four accessible elements hot-keyed to the F1, F2, F3 and F4 keys. Each of course has its own purpose.

Because of the comlexity, and because their is simply so much in GW2 to cover about all classes, i like to use a convenient GW2 guide. In my opinion, i use the GW2 Domination guide, because it contains the best information about the GW2 classes. It includes awesome builds, catering to each playstyle (An awesome Plus). Not to mention it also includes crafting, PvP builds, Leveling Guides, and a whole bunch more stuff. To check out this guide, and learn more about it, heres a link to their website:

The GW2 Domination Guide Click Here

Fire- Pure Damage (No holding back)

When you think of fire, it is destructive. It incinerates anything and anyone that stands in its path with no regret. It is sheer power to destroy all players that stand in your way. It shines brightest when in group fights where your skills hit more targets dealing incredible amount of damage to others. If you do not finish someone with your skill alone, don’t worry, the Elementalist happens to have the ability of burn that slowly whittles down their health. However do not rely solely on this to finish others because it does not last forever and only takes out a small portion of health being that it is meant to finish off, not serve as a main source of damage.

Air- Bursting with great amounts

Unlike fire, air is meant for bursting in a different manner. As you know, Guild Wars 2 allows for healing on every character to make it that no single person or group depends heavily on a support. When it comes to this element, you will send out large bursts of damage over longer periods of time to demolish health without hope of healing. Besides the large spikes, the air skills give the player the swiftness boon accompanied with other effects that are meant for crowd control.

Water- Flowing power to Support

Most of these elements can be understood by their natural roles. Water is a flowing source and is calming, brings serenity and is the source of all life. Because of this, water controlled is meant to be supportive. It does not serve as a direct method of support such as healers or tanks but it does have its small effects that help the outcome of battle through its effects. Some skills such as Geyser will heal allies while other skills such as Cleansing Wave will heal and remove conditions.

Earth- Strong Defense that holds us up

Since we have sheer damage, bursting damage and supportive play styles the only thing left is defense. While Guild Wars 2 does not have what we would call a born tank character, the element earth allows Elementalists to take that role upon their selves. These skills are meant to protect nearby allies both during combat as well as fleeing from a lost battle.

Normally classes in Guild Wars 2 want to focus in to build a single thing such as thieves building heavy stealth combined with bursting damage. This class varies greatly being that it is much more fluid and allows for more diversity. However, for an Elementalist to be successful he/she MUST switch between the different elements to be truly useful. They cannot focus just on one element because of many reasons. One may run in with fire to crush the defensive line, however if they push back you must hold meaning a switch to earth is required. If a player has just managed to jump out of battle with little health but is still needed, an elemental switch to water heals you up to continue. For you to be able to perform to your maximum potential, switches must be frequently made.

Now that you understand the aspects that make an Elementalist what they are, we will now delve into what else in held in their arsenal. Elementalists can use the following combinations:
-Two Handed Staff
-Duel Wield Daggers
-Scepter + Dagger
-Focus

With these, the Elementalist becomes a jack of all trades in the sense that they can be in every part of battle. Below you can find the trait lines that add on to your methods of battle.

Water: chilled for 3 seconds

Air: blindness for 5 seconds

Earth: immobilized for 1 second

A final thing that some would be very interested in is the Conjured weapons that Elementalists can control. These are weapons that players summon to give themselves or others a powerful tool for fighting. To make it simpler, they serve almost like kits that dropped for anyone’s use. Just like in Fps games where people will drop guns, elementalists do the same with these. Each of course can be used at any time; however they may serve even better in particular situations.

Flame Axe (Lava Axe)

Earth Shield (Magnetic Shield)

Shield Smack – Melee hit.

Crippling Shield – Throws your shield in a line in front of you, crippling enemies.

Magnetic Surge – Run at an enemy and daze them.

Magnetic Shield – Pull nearby enemies to you.

Fortify – Become invulnerable for three seconds.

Frost Bow (Ice Bow)

Water Arrow – Shoots an arrow that heals nearby allies on hit.

Frost Volley – Shoot multiple arrows applying vulnerability.

Frost Fan – Shoots arrows in a frontal arc applying chill.

Ice Storm – A regular AoE attack.

Deep Freeze – Locks the enemy in a block of ice.

Lightning Hammer (Lightning Hammer)

Lightning Swing, Static Swing, and Thunderclap – Deals damage, the third attack blinds.

Lightning Leap – Jump at an enemy.

Wind Blast – Knocks an enemy back.

Lightning Storm – AoE around you.

Static Field – Static Field that isn’t ground targetable.

Fiery Greatsword (Fiery Greatsword)

Flame Wave – Shoot fireballs from range.

Fiery Eruption – Applies burning to nearby foes.

Fiery Whirl – You swing the sword around dealing damage while charging forward.

Fiery Rush – Charge an enemy and put a firewall down.

Firestorm – AoE ability.

The Elementalist is a multipurpose character that can be found everywhere. Remember to utilize their diversity in roles and never stick to one method of fighting. Diversify yourself and be unpredictable to be the best. Good luck and thanks for reading!

It has taken me record time to level in GW2- Level 64 in roughly 3 days (fooling around with guild mates included) Spread out over 37 days, I can’t complain. (Hey, I got a lot of work, and, unfortunately, a life outside of Guild Wars 2) that time averages out to about 1 hour a day, although I did it in short bursts of 8hrs/day. (sorry for the parentheses, but I must add, I’m going to have to subtract an hour for afk time <.<) With that aside, I also made it to Master Jeweler and Leatherworker, with Artificer at level 218. Not bad for a level 64 with 73 hours of playtime!!! Since we got numerous amounts of trolls and critics, I got somethin’ for em. Screenies!!!!!!!

Alright, so this leads me to the Guild Wars 2 Tyria Guide. I have been using this guide for the past 2 weeks, (not the WHOLE time I’ve been playing the game, half the time . I’m not going to ruin the rating at the end, but I will tell you this much; It definitely helped!!! Which, brings me into the review: Here ya go folks!: (video review included, for those visual people out there)

The Boring Stuff.-General and Beginner Guides

Part 1: The Beginners Guide

The Good

With this guide, I have no complaints. It does exactly what it says, it’s a “beginners guide”. It basically gets the user acquainted with the Lore, and basics of the game, with a very creative video (in fact, I think this is the best video that explains the lore of gw2 I have ever watched (for a look into the video, watch our video review of the GW2 Tyria guide). Apart from the video, is a guide that explains all the basics of the game.

The Bad

Not much to say here, it explains everything well, with descriptive graphics. So unless you don’t like reading about basics, this part of the guide is mostly flawless.

Part 2: General Game-Play Guides

The GW2 Tyria guide includes a set of gameplay guides that explains traveling, questing, and the XP System. Some might think, (well a lot) why would I need this? Well, I agree. It is very general stuff, but it really helps out specifically by pointing out things that were previously not very noticeable. This section of the guide helped me explore areas of the game and understand them better, without that air of confusion hanging over my head.

The Profession Guides

For the Tyria Guide specifically, profession Guides are definitely where this has one of its strong points. Each Profession guide (Engineer, Elementalist ECT.) is organized into Seven Sections-

A Profession Overview

Leveling Guide and Weapon Slots Guide

Traits Guide

Healing Slot Guide

Utility Slots Guide

Elite Slot Guide

Structured PvP Builds

Check out the GW2 Tyria Guide, and start PWNING NOW! Click HERE!!!

The Good

These guides amount to something I have not really seen within a guide before. First off, the Leveling guide (which is more of a traits guide, the leveling guide is covered in the next section) is very in-depth and gives a detailed guide to traits and skills which is easy to follow.

Not even half, 1/7th. There is also a detailed Traits guide, which, based on your play-style gives you the traits you need. The Same goes for the Healing Slot Guide, Utility Slot Guide, and Elite Slot Guide,-They are all detailed and match your play-style. Not to mention it Conveniently spaces out adding traits/skills each level benchmark, so you will never have to worry about what to add and when.

Lastly, there is sPvP Builds, which gives profession specific traits, healing/utility/elites slot guides-all geared toward Pwning in sPvP, no matter you class.

The Bad

Although the Tyria Guide does provide in-depth guides to everything within the game, It obviously cannot cover every build within the game. It only covers the best. So those who come in thinking that the GW2 Tyria guide will provide thousands of builds, it does not. But if you want a build added, pop a suggestion!

Other than that, nothing else to ask for from the profession guides.

The Leveling Guide

Now, to the famous part of every MMORPG guide out their- the all-so-famous leveling guides. This is where they make-it or break-it. ( I know, I’m cheesy).

Each Leveling guide is Organized by Race, and then by Level. For Example:

“Insert Race Here” GUIDE

(Area)Level 1-15

(Area)Level 15-25

(Area)Level 30-40

(Area)Level 40-50

(Area)Level 50-60

(Area)Level 60-70

(Area)Level 70-80

The Good!

The Good thing is, it never misses a heart, has in-depth and detailed maps of waypoints, hearts, and routes to take, and got some awesome graphics which provide insight on where to be at what level.

The Leveling Guide Includes

In-Depth Routes with Graphics for Each Step

Where and How to Get each Vista/Skill Point/ Waypoints

Dynamic Events Information

Why is the leveling guide awesome? Well, it gives an explanation for everything when you need it, and when you don’t need it, don’t use it! The awesome thing about this guide is its ability to gauge how you want to play the game. If you want to speed-level to cap, go ahead. If you want to explore, go ahead! The sky is the limit!

The Bad

Not all the leveling guides are finished- So it is a work in progress. Although it is understandable because of the detail and depth of the leveling guides. Anyway, the leveling guides that are currently up, are awesome, and I definitely recommend them.

The Crafting Guides

This is where the GW2 Tyria guide really stands out. The Crafting Section is organized like so:

Crafting Overview

Crafting Maps

Crafting Discipline Tips and Tricks

“Insert Crafting Profession Here” 1-400

Check out the GW2 Tyria Guide, and start PWNING NOW! Click HERE!!!

The Good

The Crafting Overview is exactly what it says, a crafting overview. It was definitely informative, but did not include any information I did not already know.

Moving on, the crafting maps include routes for crafting, and are definitely useful, especially when deciding on a route for leveling. I found it specifically useful for professions such as jeweling, where a lot of mining reagents where in use.

Another great thing I loved about this guide was how specific it is. It has sections for every 25-50 levels, and exactly what to buy in order to level that crafting profession up. So, for example, for jewel working it would tell you to get 100 copper ore, 2 iron ore, ect.

The Bad

The lists may be confusing sometimes on what to buy, but you get used to it after a few times of using the guides. (EX: recipes or what to buy can be in a confusing order sometimes, not a biggie, just a very small inconvenience)

Member Interaction; Member Requests System

The Good

This is one of the most unique things about this guide-the fact that every member is able to post suggestions and get active responses from the team behind this guide. There is a specific section called “member requests” where members interact with the Tyria guide owners. I think this is a huge step for online guides-and what makes this guide really stand out. So, if you want a guide, or discovered a guide, and want it added to the Tyria Guide itself, just hop into the member suggestions section, and pop a suggestion. From my experience, the team behind the Tyria guide always responds to reasonable suggestions.

The Bad

Lack of forums means no interaction between members, but just interaction and suggestions for Creators of the Tyria Guide.

The Tyria Guide Rating

So this is where I point out all the pros and cons and finally give the guide a rating.
